she awoke on monday as the light came through the slit in the blinds, like soft beams waking her for the morning. the night before was pondered and considered, as the prior week was a kind of hell she endured. all she really wanted to do was roll over and sleep with her head covered to block out the light asking she wake.
though it not said what her week was like, it was one that could cause the hair to gray quicker, or a new wrinkle to appear just at the corner of the eye. those days where one wishes it would just end so they could sleep, or wake up from the nightmare of the reality.
yet monday was here and so also fridays’ fears. fears of what could come from another week of her world. gently she pushed the covers back and crawled from the bed, robing and heading for the coffee machine. glancing to her right the sun hit her again, but she passed through it squinting her eyes. as the coffee brewed she could smell the warmth and it brightened her for a moment. her mind began to shift gears, thoughts began to rearrange like a 3d puzzle being rebuilt.
after pouring a cup of coffee she pulled open the blinds in her living area and allowed the sun to breathe his light on her clean skinned face. standing there she remembered those words about thinking and living. “as a person thinks so is he.” her mind began to clear and her week began to come into focus. she changed her mind. she made her choice. this was going to be a good week whether through adversity or triumph.
wrinkles appeared at the sides of her lips as a smiling smirk came across her sun beamed face. there was a glint in her eye. she was ready. ready to face her week with her head held high, eyes wide open, and face toward the wind.
choose a good week,
