door knobprincess gia is developing a new talent of turning knobs. for those who don’t know that is my almost two year old daughter giavanna maria whom i simply adore.

jess and i were talking about this new found skill of hers and that we probably need to go and buy some of those little rings that go on the door knobs to baby proof the rooms we want to keep her out of. however, it then sparked another thought in us. that by continually just baby proofing, boundaries become unlearned and rather we may just create a really good breaking and entering artist. :)

it also made me think about how in our own lives its a constant need to access the various boundaries that we choose to value and live by. we shouldn’t condemn what we in our own convictions have approved by allowing others to put their boundaries on us. simultaneously we should be mindful of what boundaries we do need, so that we get out of life everything we were meant to get and give out to others everything we were created to give.

just thinking out loud,

  1. I agree that we need to respect certain boundaries while also ensuring that the rationale for them is clear and we haven’t made too many of them that might limit creative capacity, curiosity, and adventure. It is a delicate balance.
