Before you let your bottom lip drop or you swear me off from your “friends” list, please read on. I’ve been listening to worship music this past week by Bethel Church. The album is “Loft Sessions” and  there is a specific song called “Walk in the Promise” that has been on repeat in my car. There is a line in the song that mentions Signs and Wonders, and it made me think….

Who or What  is a Sign and Wonder? Why are we as christians looking for Signs andWonders? When or Where do we find a Sign and Wonder? How do we get to see a Sign andWonder again?

Webster gives one definition for the word Sign: something material or external that stands for or signifies something spiritual, something indicating the presence or existence of something else. Definition of Wonder: a cause of astonishment or admiration, rapt attention or astonishment at something awesomely mysterious or new to one’s experience.

By human definition obviously ” inspired” we see What a Sign and Wonder is. We’ll determine shortly Who is…..

Why  do we as christians look for Signs and Wonders? I think the definition alone makes me interested and intrigued, but also because we are created with a purpose and desire bigger than ourselves thus making us pursuit Signs and Wonders.

When or Where do we find or experience a Sign and Wonder? I think to know Where to go you have to know first Where you came from. Thus finding Signs and Wonders occurs Whenyou Practice Remembrance.

I heard Chris Caine this past weekend 8/27/12 preaching on remembering what he has brought you out of and where he is taking you. Her message made me think of all the times in life we get an opportunity to remember. Whether it’s the teenager who reflects on the rough year he/she has had and yet still graduates with honors, or the young adult that has struggled with insecurities or an addiction and is alive to see another day. Or the married couple that has had financial hardships and is able to say they are Debt Free.

All these times are Signs and Wonders. When we practice remembrance you find Signs and Wonders.

When an addict goes to an AA mtg, one of the reasons for the coming together is for the practice of remembering and identifying the Sign and Wonder within themself and others.

Churches are full of Signs and Wonders. We were sinners and its a Wonder God would save us! The sad thing is we sit next to each other every weekkend and we forget to remember and Practice Remembrance.

Thus becoming a bunch of “One Hit Wonders”.

How do we see or experience Signs and Wonders….Practice Remembrance. You are the Sign and Wonder.
